On Sunday, June 21, 2026, the Parramatta Half Marathon will see 8,000 runners take over the streets of the City of Parramatta. The 21.1 km closed road course showcases the very best of the city, starting on O’Connell Street, weaving through Parramatta Park, the CBD, and along the river foreshore, before delivering a rockstar finish inside CommBank Stadium.

Free Travel With Your Race Bibs

Your race bib gives you free travel on public transport on race day, and we strongly encourage you to use it. Parramatta is one of Sydney's best connected hubs, with trains, buses, light rail, and ferry services all within easy reach of the start and finish lines.


Major Road Closures

Driving is not encouraged. Major road closures will be in effect across the City of Parramatta from 3:00am on race morning, and parking in and around the course is extremely limited.


90 Minutes before your wave start

Runners should aim to arrive at least 90 minutes before their wave start time.

Transport Options

  • Your race bib gives you free travel on public transport on race day, and we strongly encourage you to use it. Parramatta is one of Sydney's best connected hubs, with trains, buses, light rail, and ferry services all within easy reach of the start and finish lines.

  • The closest station to the Parramatta Half Marathon start line (out the front of CommBank Stadium on O’Connell St) is Parramatta Station, which is approximately a 15 minute walk from the start. 

    Runners are advised to take advantage of the regular trains running to and from Parramatta Station to avoid expected heavy congestion and traffic on roads in and around Parramatta.

    Trackwork: planned weekend trackwork is taking place on parts of the rail network but does not directly affect access to Parramatta. Buses will replace trains between Leppington and Glenfield on the T2 and T5 lines, and between Glenfield, Sydenham, and Central via the Airport on the T8 line. Sydney Metro services between Tallawong and Sydenham will also not operate on the weekend. For the latest information, check trackwork service updates at transportnsw.info.

  • Plenty of regular route bus services run to and from Parramatta Interchange which is within a 15 minute walk to the Parramatta Half Marathon start line (out the front of CommBank Stadium on O’Connell St).

    Alternatively some bus routes also make stops along O’Connell St. To plan your trip by bus to the Parramatta Half Marathon startline, use the transportnsw.info Trip Planner.

  • On event day, L4 Parramatta Light Rail services will be operational between Carlingford and Parramatta Square only. 

    If you’re travelling from Carlingford alight at Parramatta Square and walk to the start line on O’Connell St (approximately a 15-minute walk). The first light rail service on Sunday morning leaves Carlingford at 4:55am.

    If you’re travelling from Westmead, light rail services will not run between Westmead and Parramatta Square from 5am to 12 midday on event day due to road closures. Buses will replace services during this time. The closest light rail replacement bus stop to the start line is Prince Alfred Square which is a short walk from the start line on O’Connell St.

  • The closest wharf to the start line is Parramatta Wharf however services do not run early on Sunday mornings. Use alternative transport including buses and trains.

    After the run, the wharf is a 15-minute walk from the finish line at CommBank Stadium.

Details on road closures and special event clearway parking restrictions are below. Please utilise public transport which is included for participants.

  • The closest taxi rank to the start line is located on the eastern side of Villiers Street between Ross Street and Victoria Road. It is a short walk to the Parramatta Half Marathon startline from this drop off point. 

    The existing taxi zone at Parramatta Interchange will also be available at Fitzwilliam St between Fire Horse Ln and Wentworth St, southern side.

    Keep in mind that roads will be closed and traffic may be heavy on detour routes so allow plenty of extra travel time.
